Think about the things you use every day. Do you drive a car? Do you use a microwave or a coffee maker? Have you texted someone or watched a video on YouTube? Right now, you’re probably reading this on a phone, tablet, or computer. All these common daily items use semiconductors, which are made smaller and smaller through the amazing research in nanotechnology.
One nanometer is 100,000 times smaller than a strand of human hair. It’s hard to even conceive anything that small!
Back in August, the Galileo team started working with the largest publicly-owned semiconductor R&D facility in the United States – the Albany Nanotech Complex, part of NY CREATES. The ANC has an advanced facility where experts from all over the world are working to advance semiconductor technology.
